Although I cannot explain in detail what is going on due to confidentiality issues, but in a nutshell, my work responsibility suddenly skyrocketed, and I had no choice but to take whatever that's thrown at me on board and try to keep 200 balls rolling at once.

Something I have never thought of is that comes with responsibility is transparency. A lot of process flaws are suddenly magnified, and furthermore I have realized that we are dealing with more dickheads and idiots that I thought. When things get back to normal I will put forward my findings and push to have the idiots punished. If these changes cannot be done, then I seriously doubt the time I can spend in the place, no matter how much more I am offered. By now the 2 people in the world who reads my blog would probably say pfffftt, big deal! Well, yes and no.

Being Chinese, somehow it seems UNNATURAL to move out before marriage (and sometimes even AFTER, *shivers*), if a child moves out to live (apart from a uni dorm), all the neighbors would assume that there are some serious problems between the child and parents. Compared to the western culture where someone still lives with mommy and daddy after 25, it would be borderline loser/freak. The reason behind such difference goes back to social security issues and family values etc etc which would be too long to go into.

Now I have been strategically bringing up possibilities of moving out and get my own place since I can afford it, it has been a slightly bumpy ride, not so much lack of understanding and support from the parents, but more of a "grinding of the east and west", where they got the impression that I disliked them, which was not the case. It is more about the experience of living a bachelor life, being completely independent, building my own life with my own hands, and this, in my opinion is everyone's must have experience. If you cannot even sort yourself out, how can you be sure that you can provide for a family? (unlikely I'll have a gay one tho lol)

Anyways long story short, now I have found a place I am happy with, and will try out my luck at the auction coming up, fingers crossed! However I have been having slight guilty feelings, feels as if I'm abandoning my parents, and leaving them lonely in our current place. I'm sure it is not as bad as I made it sound, but just can't help with it. I suppose this is what it takes to make decisions like this, everything you obtain, you lose something in exchange. Independence will mean that I will lose the constant "family" feeling that I got accustomed to.

Nevertheless, it is still very exciting to finally take the leap and start to build my own empire!

Above doesn't really make much sense and is probably full of contradictions, but since probably not much people are reading this, might as well use this as a journal......too lazy to delete anyways.

Wow

Seems like I'm having more come backs than John Farnham and Cher and the stones combined!

Well actually I received an alert email on a comment which I haven't seen here, so presumably it was spam. If someone violated other people's rights, should it be property, privacy, living etc, shouldn't othat offender be deemed to surrender whatever rights they have? Why should an offender's right be protected when that person clearly acted to deprive their victim of their rights? Two wrongs doesn't make it right, but sometimes an eye for an eye MIGHT be reasonable??

I know the law must be objective (yeah right, good in theory), but punishment needs to fit the crime. I don't understand why people like pedophiles and serial killers are put in prison where the victims of the crimes, as taxpayers, are indirectly funding to keep them alive while they are not making any contribution to the society. If we put ourselves in the shoes of crime victims, will we be able to live with the thought that offenders are being let off easy while you might not have another night's sleep in peace?

This self debating is doing my head in, clearly it's not a suitable day to finish a post like this, but meh, it does pay to bitch and moan.......

Democracy gone wrong?

Ok, I have been a bit sick recently, swine flu or not, don't really care. As directed by our government, they not going to test me for it anyway, they won't give me viral infection drugs, just stay home and watch personal hygiene. I did exactly that (I wonder if this was what happened to the first H1N1 casualty here, as the media reported "the man was obese and diabetic but otherwise healthy"). So let's wait to see if I live or not, I'd say live most likely, as the saying goes, true evil lives forever!

Anyways, I was browsing for random stuff on the internet after tiring from looking at all the men with packages on the net (well, I'm sick, but I'm not dead....). I've came across an article a while back about a guy in Sydney found an intruder on his property, managed to overpower him and sat on him until police arrived (I found the sat on the thief part very funny). However, the catch was, the 19 yo intruder was breathless and/or no pulse by the time police arrived, he had to be taken to hospital after having CPR performed on him. Now the authority will also investigate whether the burglary victim used “reasonable force" and will he be charged for anything.

Well, from my point of view, this is definitely out of space crazy......as many of the comments left for that article shows, majority of the readers did support what the burglary victim did and elaborated that they might do the same or worse to the burglar should they found themselves in this situation. I totally agree, if I find someone in my yard trying to break into my house, or worse, in my house stealing things, I'd assume that my personal and my family's safety is at stake and put up a fight to defend myself. The "reasonable force" is just a typical case of democracy gone crazy and give too much rights to people who do not deserve it. How do you determine what's reasonable? By asking Mr. Burglar how much things he's planning to take? If he would like to just bound you while he escape? How about if he would like to keep any of your or your family member's body parts as a little something extra? Or give your children to him just see to what extend he intends to mutilate them?

As human (which evolved from primitive animals), the urge to protect ourselves and defend our territory is in our genes. To ask someone to decide what's "reasonable" force to defend himself while he's in a potentially deadly situation is just stupid. The person standing in front of you can pull out a weapon anytime, would you rather give him that opportunity? Good on the guy for what he did, and if anything happens to the intruder, I agree with most people, TOUGH LUCK! There, I said it, I'm here, I'm queer and I hate Kylie Minogue!

I took a nice and relaxing holiday to the busiest city in the world, Tokyo. It was very interesting to observe the culture and people, take a break for my life in one of the most exciting city in the world and just being a slob that wonders around, it's F*#Kin great! I love the fact that even tho that was the most densly populated city in the world, it's possible to have minimal human interaction and get by. As I don't speak any Japanese, the vending machines were are big help, you buy almost everything from them, ticket, drink, lunch etc etc.....I love machines........

Anyways, I'm back now and all re-charged (only for like 30 min after I got back), I'm ready to grunt and rant and carry on like the old me. So, same old same old really.......

The biggest thing for me is probably that I went to a gay bar with a friend, for the first time of my life! It was quite interesting, as the straight bars I've been to here, the staffs were not as enthusiastic and not that interested to chat with you. Maybe we went at a bad time, the bar was very very quiet, but the bartenders were quite engaging, making conversations and cracking jokes, it was quite good! As the night went on, more people came and went, the bartenders were always chatting to ALL guests and ensured that no one was ignored, even facilitated pick ups! The gay "scene" I've seen had given me quite good impression and I'd definitely go back after I've learned some Japanese!

Stupid phone systems

Seems like my waiting to get sick plan did not turn out the way I hoped, so I'm back at work today.

During my lunch (ahem) time, I tried to access my personal email. Wouldn't it be making sense to list a single customer service number? P.S. not a very good idea in peak hour traffic to keep staring away from the direction you are traveling.

Well for me, I love to look at all the fine looking gents in the streets. Of coz not the psycho stalker stare......or is it? Guess that's another post....

When think about it, I perv at pretty much all the guys I see in streets. The ones that catches my eyes the most are the businessmen in suits that's neat and tidy, or the construction guys working around the block; also the policemen etc. Altho yesterday we were focusing on the guys jogging by the roadside, looking really good lol. My friend even said "wow that's really big, wonder if they just fly commando??"

About the body parts, i always look at calves and forearms, then virtually undress them with my eyes LOL. (I pretty much bitch about everything else). I'm able to learn quite quickly, normally with very few explanations. Since I started working and by comparison to many people I dealt with, my analytical and problem solving skills helped me a lot, and I was able to improve them too. (and also realised that many people are seriously lacking them) I'm able to help others both in life and at work with their problems, which I'm proud of too.

2) My cooking skill

I was exposed to home cooking since a VERY early age, and I can vaguely remember my first time cooking would have been before I was 10 years old, making scrambled eggs. My grandma was a good cook, and I used to "help" her by carrying her bags while she shopped for vegetables and groceries, and hang around the kitchen while she prepare and cook, and I guess that has influenced me a lot. Another reason being I LOVE food, wanting to try new, different ones, and everytime I taste something good, I will attempt to make it at home, if I succeed, I'd add it to my repertoire and possibly show off to my friends; if not, I'll secretly discard and remove all evidence of attempts. From all these years of practice, my cooking has been applauded by most of my friends, had friends over the other day, they actually took the leftovers home!

3) My wicked sense of humor

I think I need to rebute myself on this one a bit, because I actually don't think my sense of humor is that great. However I am able to make people laugh in a very twisted weird way lol. Guess again might have a lot to do with my work, which I always try to have a bit of fun on the phone, (not THOSE kind, altho I was sort of waiting for it to happen lol) just bitch and making fun of things happened or slip in random comments that's totally not related to the current discussion at all. I think that's how I survive my work anyway......

4) My parents

Sound like a cliche, but I am truly proud of my parents. Apart from brought the brilliant me into the world (ROFLMAO), they are seriously outstanding people. Mom was one of the most understanding and tolerating person I've known, always think from other's perspective and put herself last, willing to help and give, understanding. As before we move here, back home we lived in apartment complexes built by huge production plants funded by the government, where everyone worked in the same plant, then their children and grandchildren etc, you can imagine the level and type of gossip going on, she was known for the kind person she was, and during the 15 years or so I grew up there, never gossipped about anyone in front of me, and for as long as I could remember, never had a fight with her mother in law, my grandma. Dad's very straightforward person, sometimes could be a bit short fused, but he is a very good provider, almost working all year round, providing for the family, NEVER spent anything beyond necessities for himself. His famous motto is "Might as well at it (hardworking to make money) while I physically can, for we could be more comfortable while we cannot work"

Wheee, another entry, doing good!

I'm preparing for my next round of bitching, stay tuned

Random Update - First Installment

Just feel like to drop down some random stuff about what happened during my too-lazy-to-post period:

1) I got a PS3!
Wheee.......I have NEVER had the urge to purchase any game console since high school really. Mainly I know I'd prob be too occupied to play to focus on other things (I already spent too much time on computer). Before Christmas last year I've started to look at LCD TV's, then somehow decided that I must get a PS3 to go with it, and to top it up, the guitar hero world tour band game! Boy they are fun!!!! Already had friends over and played until our brains and eyes blacked out from staring at the screen LOL. Growing to love Manhattan (the cocktail) ! Although the bit I enjoy the most is the cherry lol.

Now about my continued bitching of online chat:

Some people are definitely having problems associating words with their intended meanings. Ie. If your information line states "please have a photo before you send me an instant message", then 7/10 people who send you messages have a photo in their profile. I mean online chatting is already as "vague" as it is, why would I waste my time to talk to someone when I hardly know ANYTHING about them, no profile information, no photos of themselves?

Fine, if you'd say I'm shallow by judging a book by its cover because I only want to talk to people who have photos (and maybe appeals to me one way or another), but we all make judgments based on our perception to a certain extent isn't it? Well let's take it to the next level, I'm visiting relatives in another country next month, so I've been looking in the local chatroom to see if there's anyone interesting, in my bio line, I've written "In town Feb 09", simple enough? In the duration of typing this paragraph, I had 2 messages that had this line as the second or third line into the conversation "are you in (name of city)?" WTF???? Yes I am! Also I put up that bio line trying to mess up your time-space perception centre of your brain! Again, why would I want to waste my time with someone who's not even bothered to read one fricken line??????

Wooo, feels good to bitch! Who said bitching and moaning won't get you anywhere? lol

Until next time, take care!

About online chat - 1

Whew, economic downturn is certainly taking its toll on businesses!

Well, on a totally unrelated topic, online chatting. I've been browsing in the chatrooms of a very popular website. I think most of us would have seen that pic where it explains the real meanings behind some online chat contents. (If someone still have access to that pic, send to me!) However I just want to have my turn of bitching about it too :)

I guess the most obvious and interesting and also funny thing is what people put down under "Build/Body Shape". Apparently the term "average" applies to visible protruding belly fat and even man-boobs, if that's the case, I should be termed "famine", so much for feeling guilty about describing myself as "slim". If we look into "athletic" and "Muscled", apparently things mentioned above can also fit into these categories and seems like muscle and fat are interchangeable words, no wonder I didn't get high distinction for my histology subjects.......

Sleepy, will update t0morrow

Rules are rules

This post is again......delayed......sigh!

Well my excuse is pre-xmas madness, lots of things happening during this time and most F*&# ups appears then too. There was this particular f-up, which wasn't my fault, well at least not mainly, we anticipated this issue to happen, and I've given PLENTY of notice to the company that's handling it for us, and I've also passed on a reminder to them when I passed relevant document to them. But still, they waited for the last minute to work on this job and bam! Xmas last minute f-up! I had to be out of my office to work on this issue for the entire day, and my boss somehow got authority to work overtime etc etc......

In the end the issue was resolved, but it made me thinking, because of such "connection", next time something goes wrong, we will probably endeavour to do the same. Although everything we do and have done are completely legal and legit, but we did get others to work outside their normal time/rules a bit. I think this proves the point that everyone should be equal under the same set of rules. If anyone gets pass a little bit, they might be trying to take a bit further next time and eventually it will be way out of the normal limits. If anyone has the authority to uphold the rules, make sure you do! lol

Hmmm apart from that, I bought a PS3 and looking for games, if anyone can recommend any, that'd be great!

Belated Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.....In 2009, make sure you enjoy life, eat good, drink heaps, and have plenty of crazy kinky sex lol

Back (Again)

OMG over a month with no entries, I'm unbelievable!!

Urgh, so much has happened in a month, esp being the economic downturn, business everywhere is struggling, compared to previous Christmas, sales had dropped a lot, yet the chaos are still happening on a daily basis!

Altho seems like while I wasn't busy updating my blog, there were more visitors??? This time for sure! Hopefully I get to be more active to avoid being "blown up" once I go pass 30! Regardless of how well we played, I did sweat a lot and did lots of running around, felt pretty good, will definitely try to keep up. Altho in the first 10 minutes, I was panting as if I was going to pass out lol.

Friday night I went out with a couple of friends to the casino here, played in the arcade for a bit, and I've gone onto one of the rides in the arcade named Max Flight 2002. It's a flight/rollercoaster simulator where you sit in the capsule and it rotates and twists, I've found a clip on youtube about it here:

I've looked at it for quite a while prior to this visit but this time finally decided to have a go, boy it was really fun! It was a very exciting experience, until the ride stopped and I found a thread on my t shirt was tangled on the seatbelt.......wait that was not a thread, it was a piece of F*#&$*# chewing gum! Now my t shirt needs to be treated (the gum and probably disinfected with pure chlorine). Apart from that the night was good, wasted about 30 dollars on slot machines with those friends just to pass time lol.

I've been chatting with the friend that's going to UK next year, she suggested that I should go asap for a change. At this stage I'm still not sure on the timing to go, but I suppose sooner is better than later, however I will need to settle things at home as well, job, home etc. Also I need more practical information from people around or in the area I suppose......

Back

WHEEEE.......my internet is back! (Totally not relating to me being lazy, nah-ah).

I guess I just want to do some random ranting, so here it goes:

Following yesterday's post, I remembered I left something out: on the bench next to me, a family came after us, sat down and told the chef that it's their first time having teppanyaki, esp for the 2 girls who looked like about 7-10 years old. So he started cooking and doing his fancy tricks, then he dropped the pepper mill, "SHIT" he exclaimed, then apologized. We were a little puzzled, was he sorry for the stuff up or using that kind of language in front of kids??

Went to a property auction today, for those who are not familiar with the house auction here in Melbourne, we just have people gathering casually around the property (garden mostly) and the auctioneer will just call out bids after buyers raise their hands to make bids and the highest bidder wins. Now I have a question, why for most auctions, the agents choose to conduct the auction in the noisiest spot possible on the property? Ie. property located on the main road, woooohoooo! Let's just do the auction right outside the front yard where there's cars/trucks drive by every 20 seconds instead of the 200 square meter+ of quieter area in the back! Is this some way to confuse buyers with current bid and to get more money???

Bad Service

Altho I whinge a lot here, I'm not a serial complainer in real life (I think) and I can tolerate a lot of things quite well. (Really, trust me!) But today I seriously had a very unpleasant experience at a local restaurant.

To start, I very rarely complain about restaurant service, whenever I see people complaining about services provided in some restaurant review, I always think they are probably just being too picky and unreasonable. For me, if I'm not paying top bucks for a meal, just some basic service will do, not a big fan of being attended all the time, I'd say I'm quite easily pleased with restaurants.

Now, me and a colleague decided to go to a restaurant near my place, heard a lot of people talking about the buffet style menu there, you dine like standard restaurant but pay a per person charge, however food is ordered and then prepared rather than collecting them from hot/cold food bars. The perks are food is freshly cooked and all the sashimi prepared are fresh and tasty.

Great, we arrived at the booked time, stepped into the restaurant, had to stand for a good 5 minutes before anyone actually noticed us existing, then we were allocated to an empty teppanyaki bench although we were not having teppanyaki meals. Well, I didn't mind. Now this is a beauty, some waitress dumped a wine menu between us and just left! This is a bit extreme, normally they ask you if you would like to order any drinks to start, or at least give you some tea! We've decided to order some wine, we picked out a couple of things to start with, filled in the little menu and handed to the waitress and asked for the wine. Without expressing any emotion at all, the waitress put our menu down and said "write the table number and number of people on the order" o...k......the night looks very fun ahead.....

After we filled in the order the correct way, the food came out quite quick, altho I've NEVER been to a Japanese restaurant (this ranges from Nobu to nameless takeaway shop around the corner) where they do not serve wasabi with sushi/sashimi. Busy restaurant, must been forgotten, nevermind, I will just ask a waitress, um, why are all of them seem uninterested to serve you?? On my 3rd attempt to talk to a waitress, she was obviously on her womanly cycle as she even frowned when she was talking to me, and just banged the plate on my side where there's no one sitting and away from the direction I was facing, this was the same for all of the staff, when they come with your food, they were just casually leaving them on your side or shovel the plate between us without even telling you the name of the dish!

Now we are a few dishes into our meals, the drink we ordered was nowhere to been seen, had to talk to the manager to get them. This got the original waitress into trouble, which oddly I didn't feel that bad (a little bad), because we should have got the drinks before we started eating! I haven't been working in a restaurant before, but I know alcohol is one of the most profitable items in a restaurant, so it makes sense to try to get guests to order them and serve them quickly. When we got the drink, seems like it has been diluted with 3 parts water and 2 parts ice.......

The meal went on and pretty much same story repeated, unattentive/rude/zombie staff, and one of the orders got lost and we had to re-order, a few things missing from the order. But the food was quite good, that kind of made up for the service, whooops, I mean the NON-EXISTENCE of service in the place.

When we got the bill, we only tipped them with the few coins in the change, my colleague says "I almost always tip, and I'd feel it's an insult to the restaurant to receive a few 10 cents coins as tips, but I think I was more than generous with them" I totally agree.

Yawn

I'm sooooo tired, it was so busy at work, for a split second, I believed I saw sparkly comet like things before my eyes! I really love this staff at the entry, as I walked straight pass him into the casino, he yelled at me to report back to him and show him my ID and gave me this evil DON'T TRY TO GET PASS ME look. Also not wanting to follow the rules and do whatever I feel like, I've used some dried shitake mushrooms, instead of proper arborio rice, I just used whatever we used to cook rice everyday, normal medium grain rice and then added some jasmine rice, this is fun......rather than cook mushrooms separately, I've just cooked them up with onions and garlic together, then added rice. To top it off, I've cooked up some mixed seafood with butter and chopped parsley. Here is the final product:

Five addictions

The talented and smart and presumably very sexy Jackdaw featured five things he's addicted to and was nicely invited me to share on the same topic. But before I start, I need to clarify the brutal false accusation (>:P) he made against me, I would never cook instant noodle for my guests, coz once I bitched about some guy who offered me and a friend "home cooking" lunch, it turned out to be instant noodles and canned food! So if I offer to cook, it will be proper cooking, done in underwears (lol, again, sorry for whoever that's gotta see it), so JD, if u take up that offer, u might need to bring something to wash your eyes. LOL

Now getting to the 5 things I'm addicted to:

1. Watches

I liked watches since I was small, always wanted to wear one. Even now there are numerous ways to tell the time, I still prefer to read it off the hands and dial of a wristwatch. I was attracted by the looks of different watches, but now what amazes me even more is the craftsmanship each watch possesses. I'm talking about the real haute horlogerie watchmakers like Breguet, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, Patek Philippe, A. Lange & Soehne etc, mechanical pieces constructed by hands, assembled into a tiny case yet performs complicated functions like perpetual calendar where the watch adjust number of days in each month and leap years all by itself! Easily done by computers and electronics, but truely amazing when it's done through cogs and springs. I might not have the ability to own all the desirable pieces, but I certainly enjoy to look at them and learn about them, and hopefully at least purchase a few :)

2. Travel

I've started to travel around in 2006, enjoyed every minute of it, and definitely looking to do more. Love to browse through another country/city, experience the local food and culture, see the attractions. I love both the city and nature of the destinations I've been to, stay in the busy city center and take a day trip to the park/forest/beach nearby is pure heaven! My favourite destination at the moment is Hawaii, love the weather and beach, snorkeling there is magic! Hopefully I will get to learn surfing next......

3. Food

As my previous posts on cooking shows, I love food, whether it's eating or making them. I have always been very curious about food from other cultures, especially any exotic flavours or ingredients. Nowadays I'm earning income myself, I've started to indulge myself in different foods, dining out more often to enjoy food from all over the world. What I will do normally is, after I've tried something nice, I will always attempt to make it myself, if I can come up with something similar to what I've tasted, that will be a huge ego boost lol.

4. Internet

The single GREATEST invention ever! Whatever you need you can find in cyberspace, information, music, movies, shopping, porn (:P). Chatting is cool too, I'm very much leaning towards chatting on msn rather than chatting on the phone lol, sad, I know. It's a great research tool, I have been doing "mini researches" almost everyday. I will just pick out something totally random and do a little research to learn about it, examples of my topics include: cheese, diamonds, perfume, cyanide, glacier, spiders.......

5. Self loving

I changed the terminology a little so it doesn't look like I'm copying from JD, but really, it is addictive, especially combined with point 4, lol. Suprised to find out JD and I are sharing similar frequencies lol. Sometimes I think the reason I could even fall asleep is because I'm exhausted afterwards lol.

Now, I suppose I need to appoint five bloggers to share their addictions, being on the scene for only 2 months, I don't think I have that many fellow bloggers yet....but anyways, hope the bloggers below will spare an entry on their blogs:

1. MCV: tying the knot soon with his bf, he's a very humble person that shares some quite meaningful posts. Also the first person who left comments on my blog, and I have and will always appreciate him for that, as it gave me the initial drive to keep my blog active. Check out his blog HERE

2. Sean appears to be a very hot young college student in Boston, underneath his nice set of abs, he's also sensible and quite interesting. Hopefully he will post some of his secretes for us.

3. Upcoming writer, Shane, whose blog I have been following too, very knowledgeable with analytical ways of thinking. Altho having exams atm, good luck and let us know how you went.

4. Joshua also was very nice to leave comments on my blog, and he loves Prada, which I did a lot too, until I decided to get one, their wallets were not the best they could be, to be honest, which instead, I bought mine from Cartier, weird, but it was nice :) Despite that, I still love Prada a lot :)

Well that was all I had :)

P.S. I have been posting less frequently because my internet connection is capped at 28.8k speed, for those who visit my blog often, I am not giving up (yet), just too frustrating to manage everything with dial up speed......

OOOOOLD

SIGH, I feel like I'm getting senile and going through mid-life crisis at 26! When I'm home today I couldn't find my bluetooth ear piece, and couldn't be bothered to look for it and decided to do that tomorrow morning. I've used up my download limit for the month!!!!!! Holy crap! How am I gonna survive with 28.8k internet speed for another 20 days???? Didn't even think I've downloaded that much, watched lots of youtube movies and maybe downloaded some of *ahem* ..those..movies but seriously, not that many......

Anyways, about last night's dinner/party, it was pretty good generally, although it was dragged on for a bit long because food wasn't served until about 1-2 hours after arrival, the hostess kept apologizing, although no one was upset over it, as we all had snacks during the activities in the afternoon. However there was a guy whom I met before, kinda made me a little uncomfortable. He's young and very good looking and smart, but I feel that he lacks certain aspects of personality.

Firstly the second course of the dinner was soup, because it was an asian restaurant, so it was your typical asian style thick gooey soup. Lots of people were adding soy sauce to taste, although I thought the soup was salty enough, then I heard him talking to the guy next to him about adding soy sauce to the soup to add flavour etc, suddenly he giggled and said "it's asian's blood". I was a little taken back by that, as I didn't find that "joke" particularly funny. Although food forms an important aspect of a culture and they can be defined by some typical ingredients they use, I just didn't feel the positive vibe in that comment. Maybe I was overreacting?

Half way through the meal, a store was mentioned and I had no idea where that was, so I asked the question, someone told me it's in a certain complex next to a well known designer boutique, I then said I kind of knew where it is now. Then he (or someone else) commented that immediately after that brand is mentioned, I knew where it was, which I thought "shit, that's a pretty obvious flameboyant gay thing to say" as I'm not out for a number of reasons, so I quickly mentioned that I knew because my friend works there (well, sort of, they offered him a casual/temp position and he didn't take it). Apparently I got worried for all the wrong reasons, as that guy started to ask me if I have any connection to that brand, ie owning shares or sell the product etc, which I found funny because I don't have anything from that brand apart from two fragrances and both of them not really my kind of style. Again, he let out another obnoxious (at least to me it was) comment "woops, sorry, I mean does your family supply them? Does your family make them in China?" I was almost ready to shower his face with soy sauce and leave, but I was nice enough to just dismiss his comment with a smirk and a "yeh rite" (which I wished I could do a bit better than that) because I didn't want to get pissed off in front of all the guest that I met for the first time and ruin the party for the hosts.

Needless to say, although the rest of the night was ok, but I just couldn't help to resent him for the whole time. He could be just too young (~20?) and didn't have any bad intention in his comments and not yet learnt about thinking before making any potentially offensive comments, or he was simply obnoxious?? Personally, as an immigrant living in a country with relatively short history of acceptance of immigrants and multiculturalism, I don't like to use the word "racism" easily, because sometimes it was simply not understanding someone else's culture. I feel like the things I've heard was a little intimidating in a racism way, as he just linked some offensive comments simply to where I was from.

Normally I just bitch and moan here as a means to express myself, but this time, I'm begging to hear what you have to say about this post. I want my readers to help me to analyse this situation, was I overly sensitive to those comments or I really should be pissed off by his comments? Went out to dinner with friends on Friday night and had some fun times until 1 in the morning. Today I went to a birthday party, it was quite fun altho it just reinforces my cynical view of human interaction sucks, too much people is never a big thing with me.........I'm have a bad headache now and hopefully I'll write something interesting tomorrow...

Saving water

Today I'm feeling preachy, so I have chosen an important topic: water. Melbourne (and Australia) is experiencing severe drought problems. Click here to see the current water storage levels around Melbourne, currently at ~34%. This is equivalent to only half of storage level 10 years ago (70% in 1998). At this rate, it's scary to think that we might run out of water supply in another decade or so! Currently we are having water restriction in place to stop water wasting by prohibiting home car wash, watering of lawns etc, but we need action from everyone to conserve water in every possible way.

Water conservation is often overlooked by people, afterall, you see them fall from sky, flowing in river, rise and fall in the sea, how can we be running out of water? Well we can! I will not go into the details of cost of treating water and consequences of extracting ground water (I was also a little lazy to do enough research to comment). I just want to talk a little about simple ways to save/recycle/reuse water and get everyone to conserve one of the most basic yet most precious natural resources. (eeew @ my expression)

One of the biggest and easiest thing is to TURN OFF THE TAB. When shaving/brushing teeth or washing vegetables prior to cooking etc etc, do not keep the tab running, turn it off and only turn it back on when you are using them. Try not to let water go straight from tab to the drain, overall you are paying for them too.

Then there's reuse water, face it, things are not as dirty as 20 years ago, whether it's fruits and vegetables, clothes, your own body (not sure about the last one). This is what I try to do, when washing fruit and veggies, use large bowls rather than running tabs, normally the water looks as clean as before the wash, of course you DO NOT drink the used water, but they can be used to mop the floor, rinse cleaning rags, water plants or in the bathroom. I will explain a bit on the last one, I also keep a bucket in the shower, it can be used to collect that bit of cold water before hot water comes out of the shower head, and collect some water during the shower. Normally when I wash my hair, I will do it over the bucket (no special awkward position or yoga style body twitching, just place it between your feet and lower your head as usual), let the bucket collect the water running down and it will always collect some water during the showering. This water can be reused to fill the water tank of the toilet after flushing, if you think about how much drinking grade water is used to flush bodily waste, that idea will not be weird at all! Also there's using washing machine water to water garden and lawn (not your edible plants I'd imagine), again, I don't think I know enough to comment, but I'd think you need bio-degradable detergent etc.

Although I probably sounded like some weird hippies, I don't care, this is serious and I feel like I need to make others aware of it. If you don't like it, don't come to me when you stink from no shower with cracked lips from not drinking water!!!

Ok now the serious stuff is out of the way, I'm looking for new jewellery, mainly rings and pendants, coz my wrist is too thin to wear bracelets, random info......

Cooking

I had instant noodles for breakfast and lunch yesterday and had it again from brunch today, wheeeee.......

I cooked for the first time in about a month, reason being I was too busy and normally in a pretty lazy/angry/tired state and can't be bothered to cook. Everyone is then given the goal to try to find that someone, some people succeed, some people fail; in this game of pursuing each other, everyone is searching amongst unlimited possibilities but given limited time.

Although nowadays finding "the one" is not really on my priority list (or so called relationship for that matter), I kinda think that maybe someone's searching for me, in the mean time, I will just wait for that to happen lol.

"Superior" people

Hmmm, some people are just seem to be "superior", not that they are, but they certainly act as if they own the world. I dealt with this pretty girl from our major client, she speaks in a very nice tone, but every now and then you just can't help to feel that she feels like she's looking down onto you. (and many of the employees there gives out the similar vibe towards us)

I was talking to her about some pending orders, which we advised her that we will need time to prepare, she told us that she will review them and let us know the requirements. This afternoon she mentioned to me that she needs some products next week into other states, I told her that the operations guys were flat out, and we do not have any prepared products to meet that date, and her response was simple (and jaw dropping) "I guess someone will need to work during the weekend then" I was like HUH??? You can give pressure to people who rely on your business to get things done, but I couldn't help to find this comment a little insulting. I felt like she's assuming us as some sort of cheap second grade workshop that just rise to their commands. We are in business relationship, not slavery, frankly after hours when my office doors are shut, I couldn't give a rat what will happen to you if you cannot get your products, isn't it? Sometimes I feel like the more we do to look after some people, the less recognition we receive, they will just take it for granted and assume that we SHOULD have done that because they are GOD......

Altho sadly, I did have to make some last minute arrangements to ensure we can meet part of the orders on Monday morning. Why the fuck on this world would something like this happen, why doesn't the stupid driver get crashed and burnt with his stupidity????? Where is the so called justice? Can't help to think there's no such thing........

Unexpected turn

Look like things have taken an unexpected turn, despite the shit has hit the fan, my boss actually didn't go mad on me!! He took about 5 - 10 minutes of full on crazy phonecall from someone and just remained calm, I was floored! However there are some unfinished business that needed to be taken care of which I had to put my neck under someone's chopping knife, sigh, so tired of this crap! I talked with my friend over dinner tonight about the problem, and she thinks UK is a good idea too, although I might not gain further experience in my current field, but as I'm not involved in current IT and/or science, which constant updating your knowledge is MANDATORY, so my experience might not "expire" as soon as I thought it would be. I guess that's true, some things you learn but not forgotten.

I'm feeling a bit better now as I've put things into perspective, but I'm still yet to confirm my intention to quit. A lot of times we only talk about how we are not happy with current situation but rarely commit ourselves to change that (how many of us tried "I will join gym and make regular visits" or "I will definitely quit smoking new year's resolution???) From now on, I will start to plan my future, decide what I will do next and do it, if you don't act to change now, you might not change forever.

My situation might be not optimal now or heading to a potentially worse situation, but after a storm, the sky always seems brighter. (I stupidly hope)

P.S. this photo I found belongs HERE, awesome job!

Sunny gloomy Sunday

I went out with friends yesterday, had lots of fun and a great time, it was good to have something to distract myself from what had happened during the week. Although I felt like I didn't want to go home at 12 am, still wanted to hang out and just chill out to get my mind off my shitty week, unfortunately others do need to go home, so I went home at 1.

Although it was raining in the night and weather report told us we will have a rainy Sunday, today's weather was really good. Plenty of sun shine and warm, I can't wait until summer! However, thinking about going back to work tomorrow just turns my mood around completely, the doomed feeling returns and I feel like to just bang my head against the inferior non-sturdy wall of our office. I've thought about it from a different perspective though, things are not THAT bad, the issues can be resolved, and it's not like I have a sex tape leaked or anything (although again I'd feel sorry for the audience), plus I'm not even afraid to lose my job, if I'm given too much crap, I will tell them to find someone better, it might be doing me a favour!

Speaking of changing job, after the recent weeks and the ongoing build up of dissatisfaction from my current work situation, I am looking for alternatives to my current job. At this stage, the very appealing option is the working holiday in UK, it offers a complete change of environment, and with Europe at my door step, at least I can travel around Europe and see all the awesome countries. However this will mean that at least for one year, I will not be able to get a job with similar roles and responsibilities because for the working holiday visa, I will be only allowed to work half of the time I stay there. Even if I can get employed in similar role, I can only work for half of the time. I'm a little worried now once I return to Melbourne, my experiences built up in my current job will not be 'current' enough to give me advantages in job hunting. Although I have not tried to get new job, there are many potential positions that sounded attractive with higher salary package too, which at least I believe my experience will look very good on my resume. But I have convinced myself, things HAVE to change, I will need to make some decisions in the coming year and sort out my future.

Here's a song by Xtina that sorta suits the mood:

Really BAD day

I shouldn't have posted about happiness when clearly it is not on the agenda this week......today had to be one of the worst days since I started working. Working under pressure or insane multi-tasking is one thing, they are frustrating but somewhat manageable. Today, urgh.......today was just nuclear explosion from hell!

Ok, I should start with some self reflection, I have been procrastinating on some issues lately, my fault, should have done things right then and there. However we are seriously understaffed here and I think taking on too much has finally bit me in the back. While trying to juggle multiple tasks at once, also needed to fill in for others who had quit, or on leave. Today, finally today, 3 or 4 things caught up to me at once, normally I'm pretty good at this, but today it just seemed to be too much. Every happened at once and it just felt like standing in front of an avalanche, horrible sight, but unable to combat it. At one point, I had to go into an office and shut the doors behind me and just cover my eyes with my hands for a while to relax myself, pathetic, eh?

I'm feeling better now as I've analyzed the situation, case by case, what I can and cannot do/control in these situations. I will try to fix up some problems and delegate some tasks to my colleagues and persuade the boss to get more people in. If I'm faced with irrational behaviour with no recognition, I will bring up hints of quitting. There's no point for me to stay somewhere that does not recognize the effort I've put in to my work, yet I get blamed for elements out of my control, that just sucks!

Here's an interesting pic I found, more can be found HERE

Happy stuff

Urgh! Last night's post was absolutely pathetic!!! I think I was wayyyyy too sleepy to write that. Today I probably had the suckiest day of the week (depends on how tomorrow turns out), but I've noticed that my past week's entries have been somewhat (hah!) negative, so I'm trying to come up with some happy stuff to write about.

*20min pause* Wow it's hard when you are in a really shitty mood lol. Ok, I've briefly chatted with someone I like and haven't spoken to for a while, that was good. Also I'm going to go out with friends over the weekend, it will be cool. These are a bit trying to hard. So I will resort to the lowest trick, flatulence. I've recently visitied this site, which contains some fart wav files that I've downloaded to my phone that I constantly play in the office, gosh it's sooo funny! How sad, yesterday (Tuesday) morning, I woke up, realized it's already pretty bright and my alarm radio is not on, I thought to myself, no alarm, woke up early, it MUST be a weekend and no need to go to work! Then I saw the clock, I actually woke up 15 minutes earlier than my alarm radio, and it's bright because the day is getting longer! Immediately shattered and returned back to sleep for another 45 min lol.

Loooooooong day

No, it was not a day where you feel like it goes on forever, didn't leave the office until about 8pm, sucks! Now I have at least 2 other staff members thinking about quitting in the near future, although I don't blame them, consider the working environment vs. financial/non-financial or even the slightest intrinsic rewards. A girl told me it has become PAINFUL to even think about coming to work. I have to say that as I progress in my job, the negative feeling has been growing stronger inside me, and it has extended to areas beyond work, or maybe it's just myself? I think I was more of a bit of a pessimist, but also can be SURE that things will definitely work out by themselves despite that almost everything goes towards the bad direction first, not sure if that even made sense......

Back to the negative vibe, although human tend to find something to blame for bad things that happened, I have to honestly say that it's not entirely my job that's making me down. Maybe partially it's due to my own personality, although I can be outgoing and just talking nonsense, there are certain areas of me that probably never get the chance to surface. As mentioned before, I'm not big on emotions, especially the lovie-dah stuff. I'm more of a lone wolf (altough that image is wayyy too cool for me lol), I have no problem with dealing the awkward silence with the presence of others, and I certainly don't mind being by myself, actually enjoyed it, it gives the chance to just think about really weird stuff that doesn't make sense. And now I think my thoughts are getting all weird, hard to put them into words, so I will stop here. I try not to draft or "plan" my blog, as this supposed to reflect my thoughts, and I would like to write it as things come to my mind. (That's pretty much my style for my entire student life, luckily, most of my essays worked out to be alright lol)

Whew~~ haven't really shared those with anyone before, so there you go, benefits of talking to total strangers eh? The supermarket was overflowing with human, *shivers*......Anyways, by the time to check out, it seemed like all lanes were again, infested with people. At the beginning I was trying to scan the line with least people/quickest check-out staff, then I discovered that at the counter of lane x, there was this really cute guy, immediately I gave up the idea of getting out of the people concentrated supermarket and nudged the lady with walking stick out of the way with my pointy elbow and ran towards the end of the line at cutie's counter. (the lady part was in my head, lucky there wasn't one around, things could get very ugly) After 15 minutes of queuing, cutie politely greeted me and asked how was I, while I was telling him I was fine, I was really thinking how fine HE was lol. After I bought sushi for lunch and walking to my car, cutie just bought some quickie sushi and a bottle of water and was heading back to supermarket, I was just behind him perving on his, um, belt....LOL. Ahem...all people do that right? RIGHT????

Supermarket:

I always find things to bitch about in the supermarket, (despite cutie check-out dude above), people are so feral! I hate people who actually DIG into the mountain of fruit and veggies and land their filthy hands on every single fucking piece of item just to choose THE ONE they like! How different can they be? It makes sense to pick up some ones that looked fresh or new, but do you really need to use your hands and arms like some sort of earth extraction machinery on vegetables? Come on!

Then there were the bastards that hijack the EXPRESS lane with 50 items, learn to read "8 items or less"! It seems like many people either have trouble with basic reading or math skills to work out how many items they are buying. While the men with 6 cartons of milk and a bunch of other stuff to check out gave me more time to perve on the cutie, I do have better things to do than standing in a supermarket queue just for fun. Please, if you having trouble working out which lane to queue at, draw a line in your palm for every item you pick up, if you have more than 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, STOP RIGHT THERE and queue at the counter with NO "Express Lane" signs!

Oh, and if anyone cares, I've stocked up on more instant noodles, wheeeeee......

Instant noodles follow up

Yawn, the past week was so tiring, hardly got energy to relax! As I was eating them for breakfast in the office, 2 smokers came up to me and said "oh no, don't drink the instant noodle soup! It's not good for you!" and my reply was "You suck cancer causing poison gas into your lungs and you are worried about artificial flavours???" Although the ladies' point was quite blatantly apparent -- they are lumps of rice, wouldn't you be full if you eat 2 bowls of rice?? However I don't know why, I had rarely been able to feel "full" after sushi (apart from the time we went to the sushi train place), I guess they are not heavy, no grease or oil etc, simple condiments (LOVE wasabi), amazingly appetizing. Yet I was seriously unable to answer why sushi is not filling for me??? Anyone?? Another girl told me it might be due to the fact that because the food is cold, so you don't feel full, doesn't really make much sense, but I can see her point a little. Come on, enlighten me!

About working

As we were talking about high staff turnover in our office today, I've mentioned that one of the biggest thing I've learnt from this job is that I'm actually very capable and competent (only to a certain extent I guess, lol). I said before I started, I thought I will probably be struggling with basic jobs and even be lucky to get 20k per year, and now I've realized that working is not as difficult as it sounds/seems, and many people are definitely not smarter (see my previous post re incompetent employee).

Since working, the importance of problem solving skill becomes very apparent. On many occasions, people (including myself) would simply ask "what should I do" or trying to pass off a problem to someone else rather than trying to spend a little more time and effort to solve them. As you progress in the job, it will become one of the key factors to determine whether you will get the next promotion to further yourself. It is really simple, all it takes is to look at a problem from a different angle/perspective, taking a detour. This sounds easy, but it does take time to be good at it, and now, I think, thanks to my work, I am pretty good at it now! Although this has a lot to do with our not so good management style, where certain employees aren't willing to contribute/participate yet others are being overworked and not receiving appropriate credit/recognition for the effort. I have seen some very good employees with strong potentials leaving because of this, we had an excellent staff that was able to pick up new tasks quickly, but after a while, their approach to problems became "how am I supposed to do that?" or "I have no idea how did that happened". Unfortunately (or fortunately) I was put into a position where I had to deal with a lot of those problems that no one would want to handle, which in the end, gave me the opportunity to practice and improve. (Sometimes at the company's expense, but hey, I'm trying my best lol)

If you are in a crummy job and thinking it's going nowhere, firstly, it may not be you, do not underestimate yourself or your potential; secondly, do not say no to new challenges, accept them and allow yourself to experience the challenge, you will get benefit out of them; finally, if you think you deserve better, you most likely do, take risks while you can, you never know what lies ahead of you unless you take that first step!

If you are an employer, good help is HARD to find, if you have a competent employee or someone with potential, give them opportunity to further themselves, encourage, do not discourage them by finger pointing and blaming; recognition and reward must be proportionate to input and effort, not necessarily financial incentives, but understanding and good temper might even get you further!

I love instant noodles

Gosh I love them! Easy to make, delicious taste, yet full of variety and can be transformed into many different dishes simply by using your imagination! Yes yes food additives, whatever LOL. If people are happy to inhale carcinogenic gas into their lungs, they should not complain about MSG or preservatives!

I love the taste of it and I, despite the put down from others, believe I CAN survive on them everyday. However, we all know that they are not enough to be a balanced meal, but they can be transformed into interesting meals. Vegetables are important, the dried veggie flakes are not enough, you need to add at least a cup of vegetables in your noodle to make them nice yet somehow nutritious, I suggest broccoli and Chinese cabbage, variety of seaweed can be added too. Also you will need some meat/egg in them, add watever you like, beef, chicken, fish, seafood, or they can be eaten with ham or canned tuna.

I have no idea why I wrote above, they just burst out on the spot

Food

Another busy week ahead......sigh! Since I've lost a day of this weekend, decided to join a friend and see the new Mummy movie (which got some very poor ratings). After an over-filling lunch, we wondered around the shopping centre for a bit, then headed for the movies. The movie's action and effects were good, but that was pretty much all the high lights. Although Alex was very cute when he was speaking Chinese hehe.

Although the story line of the movie were kinda too typical and somehow didn't connect (can someone please explain the part why did the witch cast the "mummy" spell rather than the immortal spell when she thought the emperor granted her wish to spend her life with the general??). However, I did notice one quotable quote from it, when Rick had an argument with his son, after his son stormed out, his wife said this "We spent our lives looking for priceless artifacts yet we have lost the only precious thing we have" (or along the lines of those, I could not remember it word to word after an hour of movie). Although family and love stuff are not my cup of tea, I found this piece of dialogue was very well done and brilliantly played out.

Sore eye

Worked an extra day today, it was windy at some stage and I think I got some dust in my eye, feels soooooo annoying, hope it will get better tomorrow morning.

Sad Binge Eating Friday

Fridays should be celebrated for enduring the whole week of mental and physical torture from work. BUT I found out we need to do some extra work on Saturday in response to some sudden market changes in the industry, now another day of hell is ahead, gosh I donno how will I survive! So all I could do was eat as much food as possible as a venue to ease my anger, people always comment on me eating so much and stay "slim", my response is always "U think I'm not fat, but I am, U just can't see them". I ate a pack of instant noodles, 2 bread rolls, a few biscuits, a sushi pack, my box of lunch, then for dinner I packed down those little plates traveling on conveyor belts at this sushi train place like there's no tomorrow. Before (if any) you worry about binge eating, it just happen to be one of those hungry days lol. Even this song did not make it big, it's one of my favourite Xtina's songs, as it demonstrates her singing skills more rather than the typical pop princess stuff, she also looked amazing in the video, sadly I didn't find one with embedding codes......

Enjoy:

Incompetent employees

Do you know any of them? Do you work with any of them? Do you have any of them work for you?? It seems like that my week of horror continues today, and looks like it will extend its evil tentacles to next week! I don't know what happened, but seems like everyone at work is having such a bad time this week it's not funny, I had at least 2 or 3 moments where I just want to throw my chair out of the window and quit my job. When you dealing with larger company/corporation, you think with all those recruitment programs and 99 rounds of interviews they do, everyone will be smart and efficient, WRONG! I've dealt with so many pure dumbf*cks in my job, and many of them are working in corporate banking centers, shipping lines and yes, governments.

I had to get some documentation done by this girl in a major shipping line, she requested me to fill in some forms for her, sent email, nothing happened, sent another email, "could you please fill in the form and send back to me" I was like wtf, I just sent it again, thinking probably she missed the email; couple of days later, same situation, same form, same person, had to forward my previous email to her again because my previous email obviously got ingored, by now I'm already pissed off with her. Then yesterday, I found out that something I requested her to do weeks ago hasn't been done, but it was resolved reasonably quickly, getting REALLY pissed off. Then I had to have one of the documents amended (I admit, that was partially my fault), she told me entry's already closed and I need to pay amendment charge, not a lot of money, need to have the document right asap, paid them first thing today, requested to have a PHOTOCOPY of the original document so I can send them off for my customer first. 3pm got an email from her, apparently we need to pay for another invoice, which wasn't attached in her email to me requesting payment, and need to wait for funds to clear for BOTH invoices. Well, how the hell am I suppose to know if my requested amendments are made when I'm not given a copy? All I requested was a scan/photocopy of the original, how &#*$ hard is it to print a piece of paper and photocopy it?? I sent her an email saying we need to see a copy of corrected docs before payment is made, if she can't get her bloody mind on the track, I'm going to give it to her real good! BITCH!!

BANG BANG, my customer shot me down......LOL

I'm thinking of joining gym to reduce stress, or get a punch bag and a collection of photos of people I hate!

---------

Just found this eye candy video:

Too lazy for a title

The hellish day from yesterday continues, non stop chaos and yelling in the office today, really made me pissy and grumpy, and it's multiplying, now almost everyone in the office is affected! This had put me in a mood for, well, nothing! Normally I browse through many different blogs and sites, and I do a little research on any random thing every night, but I guess my mind is just way too tired for anything.....sigh.... -- made me remember a joke someone told me "life is like being forced into sex, you either fight it or try to enjoy it", but I really feel like to shovel all the crap (literally) up life's rear alley.....

Altho again, on a completely different note, I just found out Enrique Iglesias is really hot! Boss was in a bad mood and yelled at me for things that were out of my control, everything's not working out and we are short staffed. Although the financial reward of the job is reasonable, but it is more and more apparent that the money part is taking over the career part of my job. I donno why we keep having meetings where the "system" will not be implemented properly, people are not motivated and couldn't wait to leave. It's chaotic, and it's annoying the living *#$& out of me; work more is one thing, but if you are constantly not happy in your job and the "challenges" becomes like nuisances, you will not last long in that job. Although this might be a spur of the moment thing because of one bad day, but I've become extremely dissatisfied with my job, I think I won't last another year here. I've got to take the plunge and give the working holiday in UK a go soon......

This clip definitely portraits my mood for today:

On a lighter note, I can see that I have more people visiting my blog now, that made me less grumpy, THANK YOU for stopping by my little corner on the web, I hope at least you didn't hate what you've read here, if you did, too bad, my corner, my rules! lol

Yawn....tired now, going to sleep, hopefully I will have one of those fantastic dreams where I set my office on fire.......

Hair

My hair is annoying! My less than six months old Sony laptop's bluetooth stopped working two weeks ago after only 3 or 4 uses. I've tried to search Sony's trouble shoot pages, although all I found was product specs which were no help at all, so I've decided to email the support team of Sony, who has been considered as a "premium" electronics brand, as usual, there was an auto response stating that someone will be in contact within 48 hours.

Up until today (almost 2 weeks later), no replies in my email, at this point I got really annoyed with Sony and I told my friends how unreliable there products are and they have the suckiest support system to back their products up! So I've decided to screw the help from others and try to figure out what was wrong with the laptop myself. After some failed attempts to search online for possible solution, I thought I will check out Sony's website again. So there I was back at the product spec page on "support", why would I need to know what's IN my laptop when I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with it? Then I discovered that there was a tiny link next to it that says "More product support here" Clicked on it and got sent to Sony Asia (yeah, apparently this market does not have its own support website), and after another 10 minutes or so, I went to driver download and re-installed the driver for bluetooth. After restart, my bluetooth is back to normal, although I probably should have looked closer at the website, I still say Sony's support really SUCK! At least reply my email with your big corp bullshit like sorry computer's in your hand, none of our business or something like that!

While I was trying to figure the problem out, I definitely almost had one of those moments:

I think maybe it's the work stress that's giving me the rage lol, here's another clip of some moments I thought I was going to have:

Whether I'm crazy or not, let me know, until next time, stay calm......

Becker

Today someone who's 5 yrs younger than me commented about the radio station I listen to (it's Mix for the Melbournians out there), which plays music from 80's to now. She asked me while the songs sounded good still, why do I listen to radio stations that plays old songs, and the only answer I had was "coz I'm OLD" lol

Speaking of older things, I've briefly mentioned the sitcom series Becker in my earlier posts, and I thought I will elaborate on that a bit. Although not being one of the top rated shows at the time of airing, I've always liked it because a lot of the comments made by Becker were quite similar to my own, although I was never outspoken enough to actually voice them like he did. (Also maybe getting punched in the face was not part of the script??)Nowadays when I speak to others, I often quote from the show such as "No joy of any kind" lol. Becker's view on the world is a lot like my cynical take on the world, which sometimes I think it is true ;) The short tempered doctor who hates almost everything around him is just so brilliantly made, with all the clever and funny comments and comebacks, it is definitely on my top favourite sitcom lists.

Here's a sneak preview:

Until next time, keep well.....

Random song

This couple of days have been crazy for me, work was extremely busy and chaotic, everyday is just the same, work, problem, headache, home, tired. I mean if you broke up with someone, why would you stand by the radio to listen to your clinging now ex dedicating "you still the one...." to you? I thought it was a bit freaky.... Funny thing was, some guy called and said he called a week ago, where he said he would hope their relationship to move to the next level and prepared to propose, his girlfriend heard it and now taken back by that and stopped seeing him "temporarily". While I was waiting, I was looking around at the customer and the employees of the shop, it was a busy shop in the CBD, so most customers were your business guys and girls busy chatting or reading newspapers while the employees were busy with their business.

However this guy at the cashier, seemed very naturally relaxed, even in the fast paced environment, ALWAYS had a smile on his face. Although I kinda hate those always cheerful people lol (my link to Becker, which i will elaborate in the future), but he just seemed to be so attractive with his smile and his attitude. (He wasn't serving me at the time, so definitely wasn't trying to get more sales out of the customer) There was this natural friendliness and welcoming vibe from him, not those fake niceness some people put up just for the job, it's hard to explain tho. I guess maybe this is called charisma? I'm not a drinker and don't handle alcohol well lol, I just eyeballed the ratio of the two and mixed them together, taste not bad, but my face is sure red as hell! Gonna cook dinner soon, should have done some shopping but too lazy to go out in the rain, so just defrosted a whole bunch of stuff from the freezer, donno why, but I have been quite lazy recently, altho I blamed the stress at work, but who knows, maybe I need a change in my life afterall.....

I have been revisiting the idea of going to another country for a couple of years, but I guess it's hard to give up the steady income and trying to establish in a completely new setting. Also there's work, it seems like a lot of things are either directly or indirectly looked after by me, donno how I can ever hand them over to whoever that will take over my job should I decide to leave, it's all too complicated and it's annoying the hell out of me! I think I WILL eventually do it, but the question is WHEN? If I want to do the working holiday thing in UK, I need to act pretty soon coz it's only available for people under 31 years old, and I don't want to wait until I'm 30 to go. Afterall, we should try to see the world and experiment while we still young, right?

When celebrity gone "bad"

For those of you who are in Australia, you would have heard the news, Olympian swimmers Eamon Sullivan and Stephanie Rice appeared in Myer promoting Davenport and signing autographs for fans. One particular die hard fan, Jade Gunn, after queueing for 2.5 hours, was told by Stephanie that they only sign Davenport items, by the time she grabbed some Davenport undies and rejoined the queue, organiser had already set a cut-off point in front of her. She was left in tears afterwards etc etc. Also some other fans were told that Eamon and Steph will only sign certain items ie. something purchased from the sponsor's range, this shocked and upset many eager fans whom flooded Myer to meet their stars. Many people had then bagged Rice and Sullivan for being "insensitive" and "snobby".

Now, let's examine this in detail:

Ms. Gunn was supposed to attend work-for-the-dole job training, which she skipped at the risk of losing her benefits; she had also spent over $300 on airfare to Sydney to meet returning Olympians when they returned home but again missed Sullivan and Rice. Firstly, we all know that Olympians will tour most major cities after big games, secondly, correct me if I'm wrong, athletes do not get paid by being athletes, they get paid by commercial sponsorships; finally, commercial sponsorships are sometimes enforced by contracts which are excisable under the power of law.

While being unemployed, Ms. Gunn spent tax payer's dollars to go to Sydney to greet the athletes home, I'll give her the credit for supporting our Olympics team, however I don't see the rationale behind that when soon after, the atheletes will tour the country?? Also to skip work for the dole job training for personal pleasure, somehow that does not earn much sympathy points from me. Sponsors pay big money to celebrities who endorse their products, so it comes at no suprise that they would want returns on their investments. Although Davenport in this case had done horribly with their PR, but it makes sense to think that they would want you to buy their products if you want to meet the celebrities whom they have paid to attend the event.

Personally I'm not that much of a sports fan, and I don't understand people who WORSHIP their idols, let them be movie stars, singers, atheles. All those "stars" are working, just like every one of us, if they want to earn an income, they need to be bound by rules of their employer, again, like all of us. I don't believe it was the pair's intention to upset any one of their fans, that will be stupid; but, they are in contractual relationship with Davenport, and they should and need to avoid any action to breach their contract terms, which might include, only sign Davenport items. Ms. Gunn needs to get over herself and start to focus on getting a job! While I believe Davenport's PR department needs some serious help, I don't think the two athletes should be treated like some evil dream destroyers, it's not fair.

You guys out there are more than welcome to share your opinions and thoughts on this one!

The golden boy & girl (and the ex-golden couple) of the pool

Late night entry

Yawn....getting late here, went out for dinner tonight, it was an interesting and fun night, although I have always been trying to avoid big gatherings, because it's just too hard to organize anything! I was looking forward to come home and update my blog!

I've gotta have a whinge here, on my way to home this evening, got hassled by one of those bogany, drugged up looking windscreen washer. Fine, if you want to make a living cleaning other people's wind screen, I have total respect for ANYONE who WORKS to support themselves, but don't bloody smear half of my windscreen with foams and not even cleaning it up properly! For F*#&$ sake, I didn't ask him to clean my windscreen and he screwed it up anyways! He even asked "one dollar" and I just gave him 50c and told him it was all I had, he was lucky to get it, if I'm not driving my company car I'd just ignore him and tell him to get lost! They are just some lazy assholes hassling people for money!

I'd so want to do this, with a flamethrower!!!!

Although work wasn't that bad, because I do deal with nice people a lot, very funny to talk to them, makes you feel more laid back when they start the phonecall with "hey bitch!" hahaha. Hmmm, well I haven't really done blogging before, one main reason's because I have problems being consistent with things, especially things like updating blog entries often. But maybe start to do something like this will create a good habit for myself so I could use this in my job (ie. keep updating schedules etc which I have been conveniently passing off to my fellow colleagues), also I could just have a random rant on things I hated/liked during my boring life........

Suppose I need to do some self introduction eh? Hmmm well I moved to Melbourne, Australia from Asia over 10 years ago, studied here, went to uni, got a job, oh yeah, I'm also gay. My life had been relatively smooth, successful in school/university, in a reasonably good job, couple of good friends. Being gay hasn't really affected my life that much, seems natural enough for me, not sure about others, but hey, I live my life the way I like/comfortable with.

Not sure where am I going with this, but I'll try to keep this thing updated as often as possible, so in case if any of you out there whose got some serious time to waste can have a read lol.

I'm currently exploring my options to make some decisions for myself, it's hard when you are in a relatively comfortable, stable job and thinking about making changes to your life. Although I want to do so many different things, always seems difficult to start and to give up the stable environment I'm in now. Guess I will just keep adding pros and cons as I go along then.

So yah, that's about it for now, if ANYONE is actually reading this, feel free to leave your comments, otherwise, take care.
